URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT:

Please Participate and Share BEFORE 4/4/25

The Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (Board) met on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. At the meeting, the Board took action on the following items:

        • Voted to solicit public comment on the proposed amendments to the Regulations on Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System and Standards for Competency Determination, 603 CMR 30.00, as presented by the Commissioner, including an amendment to solicit public comment on the idea discussed during the Board meeting.
        • Voted to solicit public comment on the proposed amendments to the Regulations on Educator Licensure and Preparation Program Approval, 603 CMR 7.00, as presented by the Commissioner. This includes a proposal to create a new Media Arts endorsement.
        • Agreed to continue the discussion on the Career Technical Education: Proposed Amendments to Regulations on Vocational Technical Education, 603 CMR 4.00 at the March 10 special meeting.

      The process for providing public comment on the two sets of regulations is posted on DESE’s website. The deadline to submit public comment is April 4, 2025 at 5:00 pm.
